Dr. Shanks has her B.S. degree in Early Childhood education, her Masters degree in Reading, her Education Specialist degree and her Doctoral degree in Administration and Supervision. She has taught kindergarten, kindergarten/first grade split class, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. She was the principal at Baxter Elementary School for fourteen years. She became principal of Cane Creek Elementary in the fall of 2001. She is married to Freddy Shanks. They have a son and daughter and four grandsons. Dr. Shanks email address is: shanksd3@k12tn.net.
