| Melinda Netherton is a native of Putnam County. She graduated from Upperman High School. She received her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee Tech University. She also holds a masters degree in Early Childhood Education and an Ed.S degree in Reading. She has been in the teaching profession for 32 years in which she has taught first grade, kindergarten, and is now teaching pre-K. Melinda has a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Brittney Murray, and two grandchildren, Liam and Ella. Melinda enjoys collecting “I Love Lucy” memorabilia. Her philosophy of education is to “make learning fun!”
