Melinda Phillips

Melinda Phillips is a native of Putnam County. She graduated from Upperman High School. She received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee Tech University. She also holds a masters degree in Early Childhood Education and an Ed.S. in Reading. She has been in the teaching profession for 30 years in which she has taught kindergarten and first grade. She has taught kindergarten at Cane Creek Elementary since the school opened in 1995. Melinda has one son, Stuart Murray and a daughter-in-law, Brittney Murray. They are expecting a child in June. This will be Ms Melinda's first grandchild. Her favorite hobby is collecting "I Love Lucy" memorabilia. Her philosophy of education is to "make learning fun!"
