Paula King

Paula King, Coordinator
Safe and Drug-Free Schools

The Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program is funded by a grant from the federal government. As the coordinator for this program, I teach every third and fifth grade student in Putnam County the research based prevention program titled, “Too Good for Drugs.” This proven program was developed by the Mendez Foundation and engages students in role-plays, cooperative learning and class discussions to help them develop the skills essential to making right choices. Students are taught goal setting, decision making and effective communication skills The “Too Good for Drugs Class meets once a week for nine weeks and has proven effective in reducing the intention to use alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs among participating students.

My office is in Room 310 at Cane Creek Elementary School should you have any questions.
