Accelerated Reader Program
Learn about the Accelerated Reader program!
Accelerated Reader is a
computer program that allows students to take a test on a book
that they have read. This program is used nationwide and research
has shown that students’ comprehension improves with the
use of the program. Students select a book based on their reading
level. The student reads the book and then takes an AR test. The
number of questions per test is based on the number of pages in
that book. Questions are taken from the first part, middle part,
and the last part of the book. After the student has completed
the test, the program calculates the student’s score and
allows them to review the questions they have missed.
